well this looks oddly familiar...

Check this out: http://mrsgreenhands.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Look familiar?
It sure does to ME!
my post on making and using herb vinegars
my post on lavender wands
my post on distilling lavender
my post on elderberry tincture

Hmmph!
No links, no credit.. just stolen information posted as her own. And lavender was spelled wrong in the titles.
Yes, I wrote to her a week ago and got no response.
Yes, I reported it to Google and Blogger - so far, no response.

Yes, I am highly peeved.

Just to be clear, I love it when people share the information posted on this blog, but as with all things posted or published anywhere, it is copyrighted as soon as the "publish" button is hit. A link to the original post is an absolute requirement.

Go get 'em Tina! I'd be more than peeved since this is your income!

That really stinks that someone did that to you. I hope you get some justice from Google or Blogger and the culprit rectifies it and apologizes.

I had someone copy my total blog layout one time...everything down to exact placement of widgets. I know its not quite the same as copying your words, but I was still peeved.

Thanks for pointing it out. I'll be sure to boycott her blog.

Blessings,
Marci

Oh - and yes, I DO have screen shots of the whole thing in case anyone wondered.

I just left her a comment (will be moderated of course so we won't see it.) saying that it's the honest thing to credit the author of these articles, you! Glad you let us know. What a stinker!

thanks :-) she's ignored me for a week, now. I think the part that bothers me the most is that she makes it appear that she is in some way associated with the magazine - AND SHE IS NOT.

Terrible! Just terrible. xx

I have a blog post out there that was copied in a couple places word for word and picture for picture. They do link back to my blog at least but I do ask that my words and pictures not be taken without my permission. I don't do anything about it because, what can I do, especially because they link back.

Well, they say imitation "IS" the best form of flattery. Maybe you should thank Mrs. TinaSams...I mean Mrs. Greenhands! ;)

It never ceases to amaze me - the things that people do.

You can use copyscape to see if there are any other copies of your work out there. I have it on my blog.

Hi Tina
Years ago I had someone steal my original drawing that I used for my logo. They used it on a letterhead advertising candles and were located in Chicago. You could even see my signature that was in the grasses below the bee skep. I called the lady long distance(before internet!) and told her the "problem" and she agreed to stop using the design when I mentioned going to a copyright lawyer. She got the design from a Quick print place and I believe it was lifted from a cookbook I had illustrated. Not much consulation but the candle maker is no longer in business and I am still plugging away. And you are doing quite well but---it really does PO one that people will stoop to such low levels as "stealing" one's creative endeavor!

did you notice on the elderberry post it says to consider subscribing to the essential herbal? i'm really surprised people who are her 'fans' don't notice the article was completely stolen....

how did you find her? i'm often paranoid people are going to steal my stuff and do that.

i hope you are able to get her shut down, that is just ridiculous.

I caught it because of Google Alerts, and if she hadn't been so lazy in her copying, I never would have.
I think I'll check into the link Michele posted above, and also Statcounter.com lists when people download your photos (possibly text too, but I'm not sure about that).

Wow! There wasn't even an attempt on her part to put the information that accompanied the stolen photographs into her own words. I wonder how people can justify such plagiarism and photo theft--It's baffling . . .

I'm sorry you are having this difficulty.

I appreciate the time and effort you put into your work on your free blog. As a new follower, I'm already learning so much from you. It makes me sad to know that someone is misusing the access to your hard work and the way you generously share your knowledge.

I did notice that she has a Face book page.... why dont you drop a little note on her wall?

Could it be possible she's using a script to scrape articles from related blogs right across the net, and that it might not just be your content being stolen..?

with this kind of audacity, it's entirely possible that she's never written an original sentence in her life.
